Sun Safety

Here are some important things to remember to protect your skin from the sun:

  • Wear a sunscreen of at least SPF 15 (ask your parents about SPF).
  • You will need to use two spoonfuls of sunscreen to cover your whole body.
  • Make sure you apply the sunscreen everywhere! Don’t forget your ears, your nose, your neck, your shoulders, and the back of your legs. Get a parent to help you put sunscreen on your back.
  • Reapply your sunscreen every two hours and after swimming, lots of sweating, towel drying, or washing.
  • Make sure to cover-up by wearing sunglasses, a hat and loose fitting clothing.
  • The best times to play in the sun are before 11am and after 4pm.

If you are playing out in the sun and start to feel hot, find some shade, and make sure to drink lots of water!
