Fire Safety

November 2016

Fire Safety Rules:

  1. Know and practice your family fire escape plan.
  2. Learn the number for the fire department in your neighbourhood.
  3. If your clothes catch fire, remember to always STOP, DROP (to the floor) and ROLL (to smother the flames).
  4. If there is smoke in the room you are in, crawl on the floor to your escape route. Hold a wet cloth or towel over your mouth and nose so you don’t breathe in the smoke.
  5. Remember, once you get out of a burning building, never go back in.
  6. Call the fire department from a neighbour’s house and then go to the safe meeting place you planned with your family.
