Fire Safety Rules:
- Know and practice your family fire escape plan.
- Learn the number for the fire department in your neighbourhood.
- If your clothes catch fire, remember to always STOP, DROP (to the floor) and ROLL (to smother the flames).
- If there is smoke in the room you are in, crawl on the floor to your escape route. Hold a wet cloth or towel over your mouth and nose so you don’t breathe in the smoke.
- Remember, once you get out of a burning building, never go back in.
- Call the fire department from a neighbour’s house and then go to the safe meeting place you planned with your family.
